Innovative solutions for EXPRESS-RV satellite control unit
The engineers of RESHETNEV company (under ROSCOMOS State Corporation umbrella) have upgraded EXPRESS-RV communication satellite instrumentation.
Siberian satellite builders have first developed an Onboard Control Subsystem Control Unit (OCS CU), which, in addition, has the functionality of Onboard Computer (OBC).
The new circuit designed by the company's engineers made it possible to simplify the EXPRESS-RV instrumentation, reduce weight and at the same time improve features of the control unit by using modern processors and unique software, also created at the enterprise. This development has yet no counterparts in the Russian rocket and space industry enterprises.
Currently, RESHETNEV engineers are checking the OCS CU onboard computer functioning: they are testing control commands, data reception and transmission using the simulators of program testing complex function units.
